Procrastination is not a problem. Procrastination is a great sign that either I don't know what I'm doing, or I'm trying to do something dumb.
As soon as I see a clear path to work on something worthwhile, procrastination disappears; I get started right away, with motivation and energy. This happens for me so consistently that I know it's real, it's not just some nice sounding bullshit that I'm making up.
No wonder I procrastinated so much when I was younger, people were always trying to convince me to do useless things I didn't want to do. I'm fortunate enough today that I mostly choose what I work on, so procrastination isn't stressful or guilt inducing, it's a welcome signal from my gut that I should slow down to reconsider where I'm headed and how I'm getting there.
